As a seasoned designer, I have seen design trends come and go. What was once considered old is new again, and vice versa. It is no big surprise that some of the hottest design trends experts predict to be popular in 2024 are based on trends and colors from my youth. Bright colors and vibrant hues are just some of the styles that have become popular. Bold typography is another. So, without further ado, the Tiny Stars Creative List of Emerging Trends.

Sustainable and Eco-friendly Designs
With a growing awareness of environmental issues, design trends are veering towards sustainability. Expect an increase in eco-friendly design practices characterized by using recycled materials, energy-efficient visuals, and a focus on environmentally conscious messaging. Brands will likely incorporate sustainability as a trend and a core value reflected in their design choices.

Maximalism in Color Palettes
Minimalism has long been a dominant design trend, but 2024 is heralding the return of vibrant maximalism. Bold and unconventional color combinations will take center stage, injecting energy and personality into digital designs. This trend allows for greater creative freedom, encouraging designers to experiment with daring palettes that grab attention and leave a lasting impression.
Pink is the favorite color
This year, left over from Barbie will feature pink and candy colors combined. Also pink and black. So if you love pink, you’ll love this year’s choice of colors.
Bold Typography
In the past few years, minimalist design has ruled. Everything was clean and simple. Not for long! Typography takes center stage in 2024, along with custom fonts, expressive lettering, and experimental typography to redefine brand identities. Variable fonts, allowing dynamic changes in weight, width, and slant, provide designers with the flexibility to create visually appealing and readable text.
Pixels and Dots
This is one I am not sure I would want to relive, but fonts and pictures with visible dot and pixel patterns. In the past, it was because the technology wasn’t there to have smooth, clean lines. Now, designers are embracing these patterns. They call it retro. LOL!
These are just a few examples of design trends we expect to see in 2024. Also, expect to see visible grids and strokes on boxes. Hello 90’s!
